I had Mr. Peacock for Chemistry and still remember the passion he had for the subject. You could tell by looking into his eyes as he lectured that he became a teacher for all the right reasons. Kingsbury High lost a great one.

Absolutely,
I remember Mr Peacock's lunchtime dancing classes in the late 80's. As a teacher now, I can see exactly what he was up to. However, as a teenager, it was a fab way to spend lunchtimes, and a skill which stood me in good stead when wedding invitations landed on my mat!
I was one of the prefects that served at his retirement dinner. It was a real honour to know such a wise, kind and decent man.
What a role model.

I left Kingsbury in 1962 when it was still a grammar school. I never experienced the exotic chemical smells mentioned by Michael, as in those years Doug was still chainsmoking Players Weights and driving we early addicts into a frenzy until the break!
My fondest memory of this extraordinary gentleman, was when he turned out for the staff fifteen to fill up the numbers when they played our school fifteen at rugby; definitely not his game but game he was.

It's always a pleasure to look at the work of our students and in
this case how quickly Ritik was inspired to learn and use his new
graphics tablet to produce work of this quality. Well Done!

I am so glad you are enjoying your prize. I hope this inspires others not only to participate in competitions, but also to get creative and learn something about the world around us.

I would just like to publically thank everyone concerned who has taken such a keen interest in remembering my father and his life at Kingsbury. The school really was his life and as a youngster I spent many hours at the Grammar School usually playing around in his precious chemistry lab. I can still remember the charcteristic smell of that room now!!! He is sadly missed by all and I am deeply touched that so many wish to take part in raising funds to provide a permanent memorial to him. Thank you all so so much. Michael Peacock

Thanks Julian. We're getting a great response, because Doug was held in such high regard by so many generations of students and staff. It's not always easy to find people so any help anyone can give would be gratefully received.

What a great re-design of the twitter bird.

It's a really great idea and here's hoping there is a steady stream of interesting news to come.

Well done!

Correction re Trevor Peacok's songwriting. He wrote the great "Gossip Calypso" for Bernard Cribbins OBE , not Bernard's other two successes " Right Said Fred" and "Hole In The Ground". Trevor also wrote a massive hit for Herman's Hermits, " Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter".
